President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation’s strategic goal of returning to the internationally recognized borders of 1991. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of preserving the lives of citizens and maintaining state sovereignty.

“First and foremost, we need to save people and the state”

The President noted that Ukraine is not a NATO member and lacks the alliance’s protective umbrella, making territorial integrity a critical issue. “We need Putin to lose. We don’t want him on our territory because that would mean a frozen conflict,” Zelensky stressed.

He added that the Russian president would inevitably try to return, and it’s only a matter of time. “I think he enjoys the process. That’s the problem. It doesn’t matter to him what to occupy, it’s the process that matters… The question is, who can stop him?” the President emphasized.

Tragic Consequences of Russian Aggression

President Zelensky also commented on the missile strike on the children’s hospital “Okhmatdyt” in Kyiv. He expressed his outrage at the actions of the Russian military, which are directed against the civilian population.

“Putin doesn’t care about what’s happening in Ukraine. The missile wasn’t aimed at a military target, and there was nothing wrong with it. No, the missile was aimed directly at the hospital. And this isn’t the first time. That’s why I have such emotions,” Zelensky said.

War Without Rules: Shelling of Civilian Objects

The Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine is accompanied by numerous violations of international humanitarian law. Shelling of hospitals, schools, and other civilian objects has become frequent. This not only provokes deep indignation in society but also threatens the lives of thousands of civilians.

Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that losses among the civilian population are one of the most painful issues. “It’s very difficult to lose people, to lose children. In such moments, you want to kill Putin. We all want this,” the President candidly stated.

The Path to Victory: What’s Ahead for Ukraine

Despite the difficult conditions, Ukraine continues to fight for its independence and territorial integrity. President Zelensky is convinced that victory is possible only if Russia is defeated and the international community continues to support Ukraine.

In his speeches, he repeatedly called for strengthening sanctions against Russia and providing Ukraine with necessary military assistance. Only through joint efforts can the aggressor be stopped and peace restored on Ukrainian soil.
