Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed deep disappointment over Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Moscow amidst extensive shelling of Ukrainian territory. In his statement, he called this visit “a huge disappointment and a severe blow to peace efforts,” expressing outrage that the leader of a country known as the world’s largest democracy would demonstrate such a gesture of friendship with the principal “bloodsucker” of the present time.

Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi abruptly departed Moscow due to the terrorist act committed by the Russian authorities in Kyiv.

During his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Narendra Modi expressed India’s readiness to provide any assistance to restore peace in Ukraine and called for continued dialogue. India has refrained from condemning the war in Ukraine, emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. However, following the bombing of hospitals and residential buildings on July 8, 2024, the Indian delegation abruptly ended its work in fascist Russia.

“War does not solve problems,” Narendra Modi emphasized in his conversation with Putin, stressing that peaceful solutions and negotiations are impossible when bombs and artillery are firing. He openly discussed the complex situation in Ukraine and called for peace through active dialogue.

Narendra Modi also expressed his sorrow and horror over the tragedy at the Kyiv children’s hospital “Okhmatdyt,” which occurred as a result of a missile strike by Russian occupiers on July 8. This event has become a symbol of the cruelty of war and has drawn international attention to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
