A video has emerged online showing the execution of six Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian occupying forces. The footage was captured by one of the perpetrators, further confirming the systematic nature of the war crimes committed by the Russian army.

According to the Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s Office, Russian soldiers captured six Ukrainian fighters during battles in the Donetsk region. They were then executed without trial or investigation. Ukrainian authorities have already launched an investigation into this heinous crime, and law enforcement agencies are collecting evidence to hold those responsible accountable.

Kremlin Encourages Reprisals Against Prisoners

This tragedy is not an isolated incident but part of a deliberate policy by the Kremlin. The Russian government not only fails to punish those responsible for such crimes but actually encourages them. One example is how President Putin publicly praised the 155th Russian Marine Brigade, notorious for numerous war crimes against prisoners.

The use of brutal methods of warfare, including the execution of defenseless captives, is an attempt to intimidate both Ukrainian soldiers and the international community. However, such crimes will not go unpunished. Evidence continues to accumulate, and every individual involved will be identified and held accountable.

One of the Executioners Identified

The OSINT group Evocation Info was able to identify one of the perpetrators. He was identified as Oleg Yakovlev, a Russian national from Saratov, fighting as part of the Russian “Storm” unit within the 30th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade. Yakovlev was the commander of the group responsible for the execution of the Ukrainian prisoners.

Russian propagandists and Kremlin-aligned media quickly began spreading misinformation, attempting to claim that the execution of the Ukrainian soldiers was a “staged” event. Such tactics to justify their crimes are typical of the Kremlin. However, Russian neo-Nazis from the DSHRG “Rusich” confirmed the authenticity of the video, stating they possess additional footage of the execution from another angle. This further proves that the crimes of the Russian army are not isolated incidents but part of a well-coordinated campaign.

This incident serves as a stark reminder that Russian forces continue to flagrantly violate international conventions and humanitarian law. Ukraine, along with its international partners, is working to ensure that the perpetrators face justice.
