In light of recent events and heightened tensions on the geopolitical stage, German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy, Robert Habeck, has expressed serious concern over the disagreements that have arisen regarding the transfer of Taurus missiles to Ukraine. Deeming it as a catalyst for Kremlin ambitions, Habeck emphasized that such disputes leave Europe vulnerable to the designs of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“If we now argue about how we are helping and whether we will supply the Taurus cruise missile, Putin can rest on his laurels,” the minister said, elucidating the reasons behind the coalition’s rift on missile deliveries. “We should not suspect each other of endangering peace. The one who jeopardizes peace is Putin. Those who have died in this war have died because of Putin. No one should enrich themselves from this situation, and we should not accuse each other of wanting to enrich ourselves.”

The minister also stressed that Putin not only aims to occupy Ukraine to build the Russian Empire but also intends to destabilize liberal democracy beyond Ukraine’s borders.

“If Putin is not stopped, he will not stop,” warns Habeck.

But if he is stopped, he will stop. Let this be a clear reason to end procrastination and start supplying the Taurus missiles.

In light of these statements from a prominent figure in German politics, the people of Europe and the world at large should pay closer attention to the situation’s development. The interests of peace and stability in the region demand united efforts and resolve in countering Kremlin ambitions.
