Ukrainian FPV Drones Force Russia to Close Roads and Strike Oil Depots: New Phase of the Conflict 1,200 km from the Border

In recent days, Ukrainian FPV drones have continued to prove their effectiveness on Russian territory, causing alarm among Russian military correspondents. One of the latest incidents, which has gained significant attention in Russian media, occurred in the Kursk region, where Ukrainian drone activity forced the closure of the “Kursk-Rylsk” highway to civilian traffic. This road is critically important for the supply and logistics of Russian military units in the region, making its closure a significant blow to the aggressor’s logistical network.

The road closure is just one part of a broader picture that highlights the growing impact of Ukrainian drones within Russia. Simultaneously with events in the Kursk region, Russian sources reported another attack on an oil depot, this time in the Kirov region. This marks the first instance of Ukrainian drones targeting this region, which is located approximately 1,200-1,300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The drones struck an oil storage facility at the Vyatka plant in the city of Kotel’nich, catching the Russian side off guard.

Of particular concern is the fact that the Kirov region is located not far from Kazan, where flights at the local airport were suspended the same day due to the threat of drone attacks. This indicates that Ukrainian drones are capable of striking far beyond the usual combat zones, forcing Russia to rethink its approaches to securing rear areas.

According to preliminary reports, three drones attacked the Vyatka oil depot, resulting in an explosion that ignited one of the storage tanks. This attack is further evidence that Ukrainian forces are capable of targeting critical infrastructure deep inside enemy territory, creating serious logistical and supply issues for Russia.

These developments point to a new phase in the conflict, with drones playing a crucial role in the fight for strategic assets on enemy soil. This once again confirms that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are prepared to conduct operations on a new level, using innovative technologies and methods.

It’s worth noting that these successful drone strikes significantly increase pressure on the Russian government, forcing them to divert resources to protect rear assets and reroute supply lines, which in turn impacts the overall combat readiness of the Russian military.
