In a recent interview with Italian television channel Rai 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed serious concerns regarding the loss of sovereignty in Belarus and the influence of the Kremlin in the region. According to Zelensky, Vladimir Putin not only controls the security structures in Belarus but also exerts effective control over military actions in the country.
“We are convinced that Putin is not interested merely in territory, a city, or a village, not just Crimea or Donbas. He is focused on the complete destruction of Ukraine and the annexation of all these territories to Russia. He does this either by force or politically. What he has done in Belarus happened without casualties or bloodshed – for now,” Zelensky stated.
The president also added that the dictator Putin fully controls the security structures and military operations in Belarus, which constitutes “a diplomatic occupation of an independent country and the loss of sovereignty for Belarus.” At the same time, Zelensky emphasized that Ukrainian sovereignty has not been threatened by Putin either politically or diplomatically.
Zelensky’s remarks regarding Russian influence in the region and the loss of sovereignty in Belarus have sparked outrage among the international community. The developments in Belarus and Russia’s influence in the region continue to be a subject of lively debate and political speculation.
Zelensky also called on the international community to pay attention to the situation in Belarus and support democratic principles and the sovereignty of the country. This latest appeal reflects deep concerns about stability and security in the region, especially in the face of increasing Russian influence and threats to democratic values.
In light of these events, the international community remains vigilant and closely monitors further developments in Belarus and Russian influence in the region.
