Ukraine is taking decisive steps towards ensuring its national security and economic independence. According to experts, such a move could have a significant impact on Russia’s economy, altering not only the country’s economic dynamics but also the international landscape.
One of the renowned security experts, Oleg Belokolos, the director of the Center for National Resilience Studies, discussed the potential consequences of Ukraine’s attacks on Russian oil and gas refineries (OGPs) during the “Topic with Mosiychuk” project.
“This is absolutely the right step for Ukraine. We have the right and the obligation to do this. If Ukraine continues to maintain the same scale and pace of these attacks, Russia will not be able to restore them. There are many technical details involved. This is equipment that cannot be stolen and smuggled in one’s pocket,” explained the expert.
According to him, Russians may be able to import some things from China, but that won’t be enough. “A lot of equipment is manufactured in Germany, in France. There are special chemical substances used in manufacturing technology – it’s not easy to acquire all of this,” he noted.
Belokolos is convinced that strikes on OGPs are a significant tool in Ukraine’s hands, which could compel Moscow to seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
