Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed the development of a new counteroffensive plan in an interview with the German publication Bild. This became one of the focal points of the conversation, where the head of state articulated his perspectives on further actions in the context of the war in eastern Ukraine.

The Battle Continues

According to presidential statements, Ukraine aims to continue military operations to ensure victory. “Yes, we have a counteroffensive plan. We will definitely win. There is no alternative for us,” stated Zelensky. However, he clarified that he could not provide a specific date for this. The president emphasized that the key factor for success is Ukraine’s acquisition of weaponry, particularly from the United States.

Possibility of Negotiations

Regarding potential negotiations with Russia, Zelensky expressed skepticism. “Here, we are dealing with Putin. Everything he has said up to this point has been blatant lies. We cannot trust him,” noted the president. Although he highlighted the possibility of reaching an agreement, he also pointed out that the key issue is Russia fulfilling its obligations.

The Essence of the Battle for Kharkiv

Discussing the struggle for Kharkiv, Zelensky spoke about the city’s strategic importance. “Putin, of course, wanted to capture Kharkiv because it’s a major symbol for him. Kharkiv is one of the political and cultural hearts of Ukraine,” he mentioned. However, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is doing everything possible to prevent this. “Putin only understands strength. His desire is to seize the entire Ukraine,” added the head of state.

On the Necessity of Taurus Missiles

In one of his remarks, Zelensky expressed concern about Ukraine not receiving the necessary weaponry, including Taurus missiles. “Our partners have certain weapons that we need today to survive. Ukraine needs it to survive, and I simply don’t understand why we’re not getting this weaponry,” he noted.

Zelensky underscored the necessity of receiving support from international partners, particularly in supplying modern armaments that will help Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression. He expressed surprise at why certain promises regarding armament supply had not yet been fulfilled.

This interview served as a pivotal moment in Ukraine’s efforts to garner international support and defend its territorial integrity amid the ongoing conflict with Russia. Volodymyr Zelensky demonstrated courageous leadership and determination in the pursuit of peace and security for Ukraine and the world at large.
