Ukraine is engaged in defensive warfare aimed not only at protecting its own borders but also at countering potential threats deep within enemy territory, stated a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
In an exclusive interview for the news website, Major General Yuriy Yusov, spokesperson for the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), emphasized that Ukrainian forces are prepared for various scenarios, including defensive actions in uninviting locations for the adversary.
“Ukraine will respond to any threats from the enemy not only on its own territory but also deep within their territory. This could be at sea, in the air, or on land deep in the enemy’s rear. Our defensive actions will continue regardless of circumstances,” Yusov underscored.
He also noted that even on the territory of Russia, there are no safe havens left for the adversary, except possibly for an impenetrable bunker. This demonstrates that Ukrainian military personnel are considering various response options to potential threats and are ready for the most unpredictable scenarios.
“Putin increasingly draws troops into the heart of Russia, loses control of the situation, and cannot provide adequate protection to his country. This becomes part of Ukraine’s defense strategy,” he added.
Yusov’s words affirm Ukraine’s determination to defend its territorial integrity and respond to any security threats, even if it requires conducting defensive actions deep within the enemy’s territory.
