In response to recent aggression by the Russian Federation, Europe and the United States have shown readiness to support Ukraine’s recovery efforts through financial aid and expert assistance. However, the effective management of these resources and ensuring transparent accountability are crucial. Therefore, Mariupol Reborn initiative is launching a program to train management professionals aimed at fostering an expert environment within Ukraine.
According to Vadym Boychenko, the mayor of Mariupol, preparations have already begun, with plans to collaborate closely with academic institutions to develop case studies starting in July. From September onwards, experts will spend six months establishing new management practices that promote sustainable development across regions.
The School of City Reconstruction has garnered support from the Association of Ukrainian Cities and the Council of Europe. Funding will be provided by international donors and SCM Group of companies owned by Rinat Akhmetov, enabling the implementation of extensive reconstruction projects.
“For us, human capital is a top priority akin to that of large businesses. Our focus is on nurturing talent and creating expertise that benefits all of Ukraine. This endeavor goes beyond mere training courses; it aims to strengthen the country’s capabilities,” emphasized Nataliia Yemchenko, Director of Communications at SCM and board member of the NGO “Mariupol.Reborn.”
The launch of management training programs marks a significant step in Ukraine’s recovery post-conflict with Russia’s aggression. This initiative not only aims to bolster the economy but also prepares skilled professionals capable of maximizing investments for the country’s prosperity.
