Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has raised alarm over a disinformation campaign originating from Russia concerning mobilization efforts within Ukraine. He warns that this campaign, orchestrated by the Kremlin, is stirring significant debate within Ukrainian society and on the international stage, dividing opinions on those in support and those against mobilization.

In his latest statement, Zelensky emphasized the urgency of responding to this disinformation campaign, as it could influence attitudes towards the country’s defense and mobilization efforts. He stressed that now is not the time for politicians to focus on personal ratings, but solely on the future of Ukraine, a concern that extends beyond politicians to encompass the entire Ukrainian populace.

“The Russian propaganda machine is effectively stirring up discussions on mobilization both domestically and internationally,” noted Zelensky. He highlighted how this campaign has prompted Western countries to question Ukraine’s readiness for mobilization, potentially undermining international support.

According to the President, Ukrainian lawmakers must act swiftly to pass legislation regarding mobilization, without waiting for populist applause. “If we do not act now, responsibility for decisions regarding mobilization will fall on the parliament, which is unacceptable,” he emphasized.

Zelensky calls on Ukrainian society and political forces to prioritize common interests and act in the best interests of the country’s future. “We must understand that the absence of mobilization threatens not only us but also the future of our country,” he remarked.

In his concluding remarks, Zelensky stressed the need to promptly address this situation and respond to Russian disinformation with decisive action. “This mistake has already posed a danger to our country, and we must immediately take steps to correct it,” he concluded.
