Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed serious concern over the state of Ukraine’s air defense systems, warning of a potential shortage as soon as within a month with the high intensity of shelling.

In a stark warning that resonated with many citizens, Zelensky stated, “There are moments when only the Patriot or its equivalent can work. And here we have to choose – which object to protect, this city or another city. The current intensity of the Russians is high enough, we have air defense reserves for today, but we must think about what will happen tomorrow. Tomorrow the intensity may continue – and we will not have enough.”

The President’s statement has sparked significant public debate and concern among experts, highlighting the urgent need for action to prevent potential consequences of insufficient air defense systems.

Additionally, Zelensky noted that this year Ukraine will receive only 10% of the promised F-16 aircraft. However, he emphasized that they will be able to work in conjunction with air defense systems, which could significantly alleviate the situation in terms of defense.

For many analysts and security experts, the President’s statement serves as a call to carefully analyze and strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. Zelensky urged increased efforts from all sides and support from allies in the fight for Ukraine’s security.

Clearly, a shortage in air defense systems could have serious implications for the country amidst active military operations. However, timely measures and coordinated efforts can ensure effective defense and preserve stability in Ukraine.
