North Korea Sends Soldiers to Russia: New Evidence of War Preparations

Ukrainian special forces have obtained new data revealing that North Korean soldiers are actively engaged in training in Russia, possibly preparing for a future war. Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) have released a decryption of notes from a North Korean soldier, Gyeong Hong Jong, who was killed in action, shedding light on Pyongyang’s military strategy.

Ideological Fanaticism Serving the Regime

The recovered materials show that North Korean soldiers are ordered to carry out tasks at any cost, even sacrificing their lives, for the “party and the leader’s interests.” One of the documents reads:

“The most important front is the anti-imperialist and class struggle front, and the most critical task is combat readiness. Let me emphasize again: the vital mission of our armed forces is to prepare for war. Slogan: ‘All efforts toward completing war preparations!’ This is what the revolution demands, what the current circumstances require.”

These words illustrate the ideological zeal entrenched within the North Korean military and highlight how Kim Jong Un’s regime manipulates its army to fulfill its ambitions.

A Covert Partnership with Russia

Despite Pyongyang’s official position denying any involvement in the war against Ukraine, intelligence findings suggest otherwise. North Korea appears to be collaborating with the Kremlin by sending its soldiers to Russia. It is believed these soldiers are undergoing training at military bases, potentially to take part in combat or execute other strategic operations.

Ukrainian intelligence views this collaboration as further evidence of Russia’s desperate attempt to secure any available resources to sustain its aggression against Ukraine. It also underscores Moscow’s growing reliance on authoritarian allies.

Kim Jong Un’s Double Game

Kim Jong Un continues to deny deploying his military personnel to Russia, likely to obscure the true scale of cooperation with the Kremlin and avoid international backlash. However, the newly disclosed documents paint a different picture.

Analysts suggest that North Korea’s motivation for aiding Russia lies in its desire to strengthen its influence on the global stage. At the same time, Pyongyang seeks to demonstrate loyalty to Moscow amid the isolation imposed on both regimes for their aggressive policies.

International Response

The involvement of North Korean soldiers in the conflict in Ukraine should serve as a wake-up call for the international community. North Korea’s participation in Russian aggression highlights how authoritarian regimes collaborate to threaten global security. This requires stronger sanctions and coordinated actions by democratic nations to counter these alliances.
