Kremlin Completely Dependent on China: A Call from Beijing Could Stop the War – President of Finland

Russia’s dependence on China has reached such a level that Beijing could end the war in Ukraine with a single phone call. This view was expressed by Finnish President Alexander Stubb in an interview with Bloomberg.

China’s Influence on Russia

The Finnish president emphasized that Russia has become so dependent on China that the latter has all the necessary leverage to compel the Kremlin to cease its military actions in Ukraine. Stubb highlighted that China wields significant economic and political influence over Russia, allowing it to dictate terms.

“Beijing has enough power to stop the war with a single call. Russia would have no choice,” Stubb said.

Comments on Orban’s Visit

The Finnish president also commented on the recent visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Ukraine and his proposals for a ceasefire. Stubb expressed skepticism about Orban’s “peace initiatives,” emphasizing the need for genuine peace negotiations.

“At this moment, a ceasefire is out of the question; genuine peace negotiations are necessary. The only thing Russia understands is strength. Therefore, the more we can help Ukraine now, the sooner we can end the war,” the president remarked.

Strengthening Support for Ukraine

Stubb called on Europe to intensify its support for Ukraine. He stressed that Ukraine needs both material and financial aid, as well as political backing to strengthen its path towards EU and NATO membership. Additionally, the Finnish president underscored the importance of bolstering European defense capabilities, both in traditional armed forces and in countering hybrid warfare from Russia.

“Ukraine needs our help not only now but also in the future. We must support its path towards EU and NATO membership and ensure reliable material and financial assistance,” Stubb emphasized.

Context of Russian Aggression

Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has long posed a challenge to the international community. Since 2014, with the annexation of Crimea and the conflict in Donbas, Ukraine has been under constant threat. The military actions in the eastern part of the country, continuous shelling, and the use of drones and other weaponry have severely complicated the lives of civilians.

Europe and the global community must unite and act decisively to stop the aggressor and ensure peace and stability in the region. In this context, countries like China, which have leverage over Russia, play a crucial role.
