During the European Union summit in Brussels, French President Emmanuel Macron cautioned against a potential further expansion of Russian aggression on Ukrainian territory. This statement came in response to comments from the Kremlin suggesting that Russia considers itself in a state of war due to Western intervention in favor of Ukraine.

Macron emphasized that it would be a mistake to believe that Russia plans to cease its aggression only in the Donbass region and Crimea. He added that the use of the term “war” could create uncertainty regarding Russia’s military objectives. According to Macron, France is prepared to respond to any attacks Russia may undertake.

The words of the French president reflect the overall state of heightened tension and instability in the region, where conflicts and violations of international law persist.

In recent years, Ukraine has faced significant pressure from Russia, which annexed Crimea and supports militants in the country’s east. This has led to tragic consequences for the local population and a threat to international security.

The European Union continues to work together with partner countries to strengthen sanctions and other measures aimed at curbing Russia’s aggressive actions on the international stage. However, despite these efforts, the threat of further escalation of the conflict remains serious.

For its part, Ukraine continues to uphold its sovereignty and territorial integrity, defending its rights on the international stage and taking decisive steps to protect its citizens.

The situation in eastern Ukraine remains at the forefront of the international community’s attention and requires active response and cooperation to ensure peace and stability in the region.
