United States at Crossroads: Between Global Leadership and Isolation

In the modern world of heightened political tensions and armed conflicts, it’s crucial to understand the strategy that the United States should adopt. The question of whether to continue being a global leader or to retreat into isolation becomes exceptionally relevant. In a live marathon broadcast, it was stated that an important decision needs to be made.

Advisor to the Office of the President, Mykhailo Podolyak, emphasized that if the path of global leadership is chosen, the U.S. must rethink its policy on providing assistance to Ukraine. He stressed that if Russia emerges victorious in this conflict, the world will never be the same again.

“If you want to be a global leader, you have to invest in it. If not, you must acknowledge this and declare that we are not as strong as we’ve always claimed. Today, this seems somewhat odd. The amount of $61 billion for military expenditures is quite small compared to what has already been approved. It’s an investment in your reputation as a global leader. We await the moment when the U.S. realizes how crucial reputation is. If you want to appear as you’ve always portrayed yourself, it’s better to invest the appropriate funds,” Podolyak emphasized.

He also added that currently, the primary assistance is provided not by the United States but by Europe, and Ukraine intends to expand this cooperation.

“At this stage of the war, it’s clear what resources are needed – shells, long-range missiles, long-range drones, aviation. How many shells do we need? Per month – at least 150-200 thousand shells of 155mm caliber. These shells are sought on the global market, and Europe will produce more of them. We want to produce long-range missiles jointly. Long-range drones are manufactured in Ukraine. The F-16 coalition is assembled by Europe, so we should calmly approach discussions in the U.S.,” he explained.

In the midst of geopolitical shifts and acute conflicts, the crucial factor for the future of the United States may lie in defining its place in the world correctly. Investing in international relations and providing assistance to countries in complex situations may determine the further development of American policy.
