In his evening address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Ukraine has produced the first 100 units of missile weaponry this year. Significant progress has also been made in the production of artillery, ammunition, drones, and other military supplies for the Armed Forces. Zelensky highlighted that more than 800 Ukrainian companies are now actively involved in this effort. Despite this success, Ukraine continues to face major challenges due to Russia’s overwhelming resource advantage.

Growing Military Power of Russia

The Washington Post recently reported that Russia continues to finance its military aggression thanks to significant revenues from oil exports. Western sanctions, particularly the price cap on Russian oil imposed by the G7 countries, have proven insufficient in curbing Russia’s oil income. As a result, Russia remains capable of funding its military efforts for several more years.

However, the Russian economy is under threat of overheating, with rising wages, depleted production capacities, and a shortage of labor. Despite these challenges, Russia plans to increase its ammunition production by 30% next year, exceeding the combined output of all EU countries. This development raises serious concerns for Ukraine and its allies.

Strategic Efforts to Counter Russian Aggression

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, at a press conference with the EU’s top diplomat, stressed the importance of countering Russia on all fronts. He emphasized the need to halt the expansion of Russia’s military capabilities, particularly by addressing the shadow fleet involved in oil transportation.

These threats require coordinated efforts from Ukraine and the international community. As President Zelensky asserts, the peace plan is the key to ending aggression, and its implementation will serve as the foundation for a lasting peace in the region.

Zelensky’s “Peace Formula”: Ukraine and the UN at the Core of the Peace Process

At the third parliamentary summit of the Crimean Platform, Zelensky outlined the next steps towards peace, stating that successful implementation of the peace formula would restore the world order based on the UN Charter. He emphasized that when this plan is carried out, Russia will be forced to sit down at the peace summit.

He also stressed the importance of supporting the UN and international organizations in Ukraine’s fight for territorial integrity and independence, highlighting the symbolic significance of the United Nations Day, observed globally. “This day is a symbol of the unity of civilized nations in countering aggression, and it is crucial that we maintain international support on the path to restoring peace and justice,” said Zelensky.
