On August 24, Ukraine successfully used its new domestic rocket-drone, named “Palyanytsya,” for the first time. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this development during his address marking Ukraine’s Independence Day. According to the president, the strike was successful, though specific details about the target location were not disclosed.

“Palyanytsya” – A New Method of Responding to Aggression

President Zelensky emphasized the significance of this new Ukrainian weapon, describing “Palyanytsya” as an entirely new class of armament that will be an effective tool in the fight against aggression. “Today marked the first and successful combat use of our new weapon. This is our new method of retribution against the aggressor. The enemy has been struck,” Zelensky stated.

He highlighted that the Russian side will find it difficult to immediately identify what exactly hit them, underscoring the innovation and technological edge of this Ukrainian development. This will enable Ukraine to deliver precise and unexpected strikes anywhere within Russia.

Ukraine Ready to Strike Any Part of Russia

In his address, Zelensky also declared that Ukraine would soon be able to strike any part of the Russian Federation that poses a threat to Ukrainian statehood and its people. This message was a key element of his speech, in which he noted that Russia, in its quest to destroy Ukraine, has itself become the target of Ukrainian attacks.

“Our enemy will learn that the Ukrainian response will reach any point in the Russian Federation that is a source of danger to the lives of our people,” the president said. He further warned those who wish to turn Ukraine into a buffer zone to consider the consequences for their own country.

The “Palyanytsya” Project: Details of the New Weapon

During a press briefing, President Zelensky provided details about the new rocket-drone “Palyanytsya,” which is part of Ukraine’s missile program. He noted that the program includes three items, and the testing of the first element has been successful. “This rocket-drone is much faster and more powerful than our previous drones,” Zelensky mentioned, emphasizing that work on new weaponry continues round the clock.

The president also noted that in addition to “Palyanytsya,” Ukraine is developing other powerful and long-range missiles, which will significantly enhance the country’s defense capabilities.

Details on Ukrainian Operation in Kursk Region

Zelensky also provided a detailed update on the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region for the first time. He emphasized that the operation is complex but is proceeding according to plan. One of the key results has been the replenishment of the exchange fund and halting Russian advances in northern Ukraine.

The president highlighted that the operation aimed not only at military objectives but also at demonstrating the true nature of the Putin regime to the international community. “This operation has shown that for Putin, occupying Ukrainian territories is more important than protecting his own people,” Zelensky said, adding that as a result, Russian forces are bombing their own villages.

Ukraine Prepared to Independently Combat Aggressors

Zelensky also underscored Ukraine’s readiness to fight the aggressor independently if international partners fail to provide sufficient support. “There are many steps Ukraine is taking and will continue to take. However, if partners falter, we will do everything to ensure our army can justly push Putin off our territory,” the president assured.

This message reflects Ukraine’s determination to continue its fight until full restoration of territorial integrity and cessation of Russian aggression.
