The decision by Ukraine to launch an offensive into Russian territory may prove to be a turning point in the ongoing conflict, according to U.S. Senator Mark Kelly from Arizona.
Senator Kelly emphasized that the actions taken by Ukrainian forces on Russian soil could compel Moscow to rethink its strategies. He stated that such unexpected moves by Ukraine might significantly alter the dynamics of the war, forcing the aggressor to reassess its plans and resources.
“130,000 Russians have been forced to leave their homes due to the actions of the Ukrainian military. At this stage in the conflict, I believe the Ukrainians have done something unforeseen that could truly change the course of this conflict,” said Senator Kelly.

Additionally, Senator Kelly shared his views on the use of American weapons on Russian territory, underscoring that he is “not opposed” to such actions. He emphasized that Ukrainians have the right to defend their country and use any means necessary to repel the aggressor.
“Ukrainians were illegally attacked by Putin. He is deliberately killing women, children, and the elderly. This was an illegal invasion. I don’t think Ukrainians want to hold Russian territory for a long period, but it certainly has put Putin on the back foot,” the senator noted.
