As a result of a strike on the oil terminal in the occupied city of Feodosia, two fuel tanks were destroyed, while two others continue to burn. Additionally, the diesel fuel loading pipeline has been damaged, complicating the transportation of strategic resources in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
The “Sea Oil Terminal” in Feodosia is the largest oil transshipment facility on the peninsula, and its operation is critical for fuel supply to the entire regional logistics of Russian troops. This attack further exacerbates the difficulties faced by the occupiers in supporting their armed forces, particularly those operating on the Southern Front of Ukraine.
Due to the damage caused by the explosions, local authorities under occupation were forced to shut off water supply in villages near Feodosia. Russian propaganda media report extensive consequences for infrastructure, as well as new explosions that occurred overnight. According to local public forums, the fire at the terminal has been ongoing for two days now.
An important aspect of this attack is that the facility had been equipped with the “Pantsir-S1” air defense system since autumn 2022, as noted by “Radio Free Europe.” However, this system was unable to prevent the recent aerial strike, highlighting the vulnerability of Russian defensive infrastructure in the face of new challenges. Additionally, this incident once again demonstrates the activity of Ukrainian forces in targeting key facilities in the occupied territories of Crimea.
This attack carries not only military significance but also seriously affects the civilian infrastructure of the peninsula, increasing tensions among the local population and adding difficulties for the occupying administrations.
