Against the backdrop of Russian forces occupying Avdiivka and Ukraine’s desperate wait for U.S. assistance, hindered by some Republicans in the House of Representatives, the apologetic stance of Trump towards Russia closely mirrors that of the Republican Party. However, not all Republicans have yielded to the new narrative. Time notes that former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is actively challenging Trump’s position.
“Of course, many of the same politicians who publicly support Trump now privately fear him. They understand the havoc he was and will be for our party. They’re just too afraid to say it out loud,” stated Haley.
