Czech President Petr Pavel has expressed his opinion on the possibility of NATO military assistance on Ukrainian soil, noting that such actions do not contradict international norms. His statement has sparked significant resonance amid the tense situation in eastern Ukraine.

According to Pavel, it is necessary to clearly distinguish between the deployment of combat forces and potential involvement in auxiliary operations, in which NATO already has experience. Pavel reminded of previous instances when NATO supported Ukraine, notably through training missions.

“After the annexation of Crimea and the occupation of parts of Donbas, which constituted an act of aggression, NATO conducted a training mission on Ukrainian territory, involving representatives from more than 15 countries, with a total strength of about 1000 personnel,” Pavel noted.

The remarks by the Czech leader raise important questions about the prospects of the Ukrainian conflict and the role international alliances may play in its resolution. The situation remains dynamic, and comments of this caliber carry significant weight in understanding the diplomatic atmosphere in the region.
