The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive their first batch of ammunition from the Czech initiative by the end of this month, announced Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová. She emphasized that before being sent to Ukraine, the ammunition will undergo thorough inspection by Czech specialists and, if necessary, will be repaired.
“In some countries, ammunition is of higher quality, while in others, it’s lower. On the other hand, there is so little of it in the world that we must accept it as it is,” Černochová stated on CNN Prima.
This statement was in response to comments from former Czech Defense Minister Lubomír Metnar, who claimed that some of the ammunition might be of poor quality. Černochová stressed that inspection and possible repair are crucial steps before sending the ammunition to Ukraine to ensure its proper quality and usability.
The Czech initiative to support Ukraine is a significant element in the context of ongoing Russian aggression. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the Czech Republic has been actively supporting the Ukrainian side, providing not only humanitarian aid but also military support.
