Donetsk OVA Announces Forced Evacuation of Hundreds of Children and Their Families
In response to ongoing Russian aggression, the Donetsk Regional Military Administration (OVA) has announced the forced evacuation of hundreds of children and their families from several settlements in the region. According to OVA head Pavlo Kyrylenko, Russian forces are daily shelling villages in the areas of Donetsk Oblast under Ukrainian control.
Continuous Shelling and Its Impact
The area from which the evacuation is taking place has been subjected to intense shelling by Russian troops. The situation remains critical, with daily reports of new attacks causing significant damage to infrastructure and threatening civilian lives.
“Russians continue to terrorize our land. We see new shelling every day, which results in numerous casualties among civilians,” Kyrylenko noted.
Prioritizing the Evacuation of Children
From four communities in Donetsk Oblast, 744 children and their families are set to be evacuated. This measure is deemed necessary to ensure the safety of children, as shelling frequently targets residential buildings, schools, and other public structures.
“Our main task is to preserve the lives and health of our children. We are doing everything possible to ensure their safety during these difficult times,” emphasized the OVA head.
Context of Russian Aggression
The forced evacuation is a direct consequence of Russia’s unprecedented aggression against Ukraine, which has been ongoing for several years. These actions by Russia are part of a broader strategy aimed at destabilizing the region and undermining Ukrainian independence. The shelling of civilian areas and infrastructure is a clear example of war crimes committed by Russian forces.
Call to the International Community
The Donetsk OVA is appealing to the international community for support and condemnation of Russia’s aggressive actions. There is a need to increase pressure on Russia and provide humanitarian aid to those affected by the conflict.
