After several months of acute shortages in Western ammunition supplies, particularly 155mm artillery shells, the situation has markedly improved in recent weeks (source: UNIAN). Multiple sources within the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have confirmed this to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
“Around a month ago, things started getting better and have continued to improve, especially concerning the 155mm artillery shells,” said Ukrainian sergeant known by the call sign “Luntik.” He noted that whereas in the first quarter their unit was strictly limited to “six shells per gun per day,” today the limit has been raised to “up to 40 per day,” according to military sources.
In the hottest zones like the Kharkiv region, there are reportedly no restrictions at all, added the sergeant.
According to AFP sources at the General Staff, the gap in the number of Ukrainian and Russian shots has significantly narrowed in favor of Kyiv thanks to the influx of new Western ammunition supplies:
“As of today, the ratio of ammunition usage stands at 1 to 3 for Ukraine versus Russia, compared to 1 to 7 previously. Supplies have increased for us and decreased for the Russians,” AFP reported.
Recent reports indicate that the influx of new ammunition from the West has significantly bolstered Ukraine’s defensive capabilities, providing its military formations with the necessary resources for successful operations.
