During a joint press conference with Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed rumors about a potential change in the format of “Ramstein” meetings. Zelensky emphasized the importance of this format for Ukraine and confirmed its continued operation.
“Ramstein” Remains a Key Instrument
“No one is expecting any alternatives. This will be an additional tool. In other words, Ramstein will continue to function, which is important for us, as well as for most countries, and it’s not just NATO countries involved. We can’t find an alternative. The tool being proposed by NATO countries and the Secretary General seems premature to discuss today,” Zelensky stated.
Ukraine and Allies Stand United
At the press conference, Zelensky highlighted the importance of “Ramstein” as a platform for ensuring Ukraine’s defense capabilities. He also mentioned that the proposals from NATO and the Secretary General could serve as an additional tool to strengthen existing mechanisms. Special attention was given to the mechanism that ensures the effective delivery of support to Ukraine.
