Kyiv, July 8, 2024 – This morning, Russian occupiers launched a horrific missile strike on the National Children’s Specialized Hospital “Okhmatdyt” in Kyiv. The attack resulted in the death of three people and injuries to 16 others, including seven children.

Attack Details
According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), a Kh-101 missile launched from a Tu-95 bomber struck the hospital building housing the intensive care unit and the efferent therapy unit for chronic intoxications. This confirms that the strike was deliberate and aimed at a civilian target.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called this act “another war crime by Russia that has no justification.” The SBU confirms that the strike on “Okhmatdyt” was intentional, with numerous video recordings from the scene showing the missile hitting the children’s hospital building.
Horrific Aftermath of the Attack

Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko noted that the affected building housed intensive care, surgical, and oncology departments. The consequences of the attack are devastating: the building is significantly damaged, medical equipment destroyed, and patients and medical staff are in shock.
Kyiv residents immediately responded to the tragedy, coming to the hospital to help clear the debris, provide water and medicine, and rescue the injured. This selflessness and solidarity demonstrate the unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people.
Overall Casualties
President Zelensky reported that attacks on hospitals, shops, and residential buildings across the country have killed 37 people and injured over 170. This is yet another testament to the terrorist tactics of

intimidation used by Russian military forces, who, failing to succeed on the battlefield, are attempting to break the morale of Ukrainians by killing children and civilians.
Context of Russian Aggression
The Russian Federation continues its aggressive policy on Ukrainian territory, violating all possible norms of international law and humanity. Deliberate strikes on civilian objects such as hospitals, schools, and residential buildings have become a grim reality for Ukrainians. This aggression aims not only at military pressure but also at psychological pressure on the population, trying to sow panic and fear.

Today’s strike on “Okhmatdyt” is another horrific crime by Russia against the Ukrainian people. It shows that Russia will stop at nothing to achieve its goals in Ukraine.
Call to the International Community

This terrorist act cannot be ignored. The world needs to know what Russia is doing in Ukraine. It is essential to provide Ukraine with weapons and resources to defend itself against the Russian aggressor. We must do everything possible to stop this terror and bring the perpetrators to justice.
